About
Being a software developer, server and database administrator, I spend a lot of time surfing the Internet looking for solutions to many problems that I encounter on a day-to-day basis. Many of the best solutions I have found are in public forums, and more recently, with trends as they are, in various personal blogs.
Normally, once I find the solution to a problem, whether it be a debugging message I don't understand, or instructions for installing a piece of software, or a list of obscure commands for an even more obscure program, or anything else, I either file it away in my memory for future use, or, more often, simply forget the details, knowing that if I encounter the problem again I will be able to solve it, since I was able to once.
I spend a lot of time, sometimes whole days, or parts of weeks attempting to solve some of these problems, and once I do I generally let the knowledge simply fade away again. This is a silly way of doing business, especially considering most of the solutions I find to the really complex problems I encounter I don't find at a single resource, but rather a multitude of sources, each providing a peice of information that eventually coalescenses into a complete solution, but only after hours of trial-and-error testing.
So enter this blog, my namesake. I've decided to begin posting the solutions to problems that I face, in hopes that I will be able to provide a little help to other people out there like me trying to make a living in this complex computer world.
